Attract more coachees with the power of video
In this blog I will talk to you about the real power of video and why I am so passionate about using it for your (life) work. Most videos that appear on your timeline do not use this principle. Missed opportunity!
The main reason I advise entrepreneurs to use video is not because videos are shared more on social media than other types of updates or because videos receive more comments. It is also not because video helps to build a relationship of trust with customers faster.
All very true, but for me, to be honest, less relevant.
Give meaning
Besides the fact that video helps to successfully promote your business, video is, in my opinion, the ideal way to freely express yourself in the world.
Huh? Why is that important to me as a coach? you may ask.
I believe that everyone has the desire to mean something. Especially the people who have consciously chosen a profession such as coaching. Giving meaning can be done in many different ways and we often choose quite complicated forms for this; we invent constructions (a company) in which there is an equal exchange and put a lot of effort (marketing) to achieve that.
While I know, and you probably do too, that everyone naturally has a distinctive and valuable ability. Simply because of who you ARE in essence. You don't have to do anything for that. In fact, the more you tinker, refine and rethink it, the further you can get away from your purity.
In contact with your essence you have access to insights and ideas, intuition and inspiration unique to you, but not meant to be kept just for yourself. It is precisely by sharing this that you help others, make a difference and fulfill your desire for meaning.
And that's where video comes in!
Video as an amplifier
Because inspiration cannot be conveyed in a better or easier way than with video. The moment a light goes on or something makes your heart beat faster, you pick up your smartphone and share what's going on in your mind. Simple and fast!
You will notice as soon as you express what is going on inside you that the next step or idea becomes visible to you. Because you don't just let all that brilliant information circulate in your head, but send it out into the world, you will immediately notice that something is changing around you. It will give you clarity and those around you will respond to it, causing the next relevant step, idea or person to automatically present itself.
This is the magic of video!
Feeling and expressing your desires helps you to change reality according to your wishes. When you record something with heart and soul and send it out, a video acts as an amplifier for the song you sing.
Attract customers
There is only one condition; that you share freely without expectation, stress or rejection of yourself: free expression. Any disturbance you send with the recordings will be palpable to the viewer. Not only your words are important, but the energy from which you record is just as important. That mix creates a vibration that attracts its like; people who tune in to what you have in abundance; potential customers!
Promoting with video and attracting through video are two sides of the same coin, but with a completely different experience for both the creator and the recipient. The trick is to use these two methods at the right time and make them work optimally for you.
Difference between promote and attract
Promotion has a clear purpose and must convince people to take certain steps. It is to a certain extent compelling and speaks to someone about his or her shortcomings. Use video promotion if you want concrete results quickly. Most videos you see are made to promote something or someone. Nice if you were just looking for that offer, undesirable if you are not waiting for it.
Attracting with video is about sharing the abundance that you naturally have, based on the confidence that the right thing will find its way there. It is just as powerful as promoting, but usually has a slightly longer lead-in because it does not force anything and it has a longer and deeper effect on the relationships. In-depth interviews and my video portraits are a good example of this.
Inside out
Even though this form is more fun to make and watch (because there is no hidden agenda), you rarely see these types of videos. Why actually? We are not used to filming ourselves and just sharing what is going on inside us. We want guidance in the form of a script or example. We do our best to look presentable and professional and choose a beautiful background to present in front of.
We are so busy with the outside that we forget to be completely present with what is going through us. While it is precisely in embodying our words, fully living and experiencing what we say, that has a magnetic effect. The freedom of expression is palpable right through the screen and immediately gives the viewer value. And that in turn gives the creator fulfillment. Tadaaaa basic desire fulfilled!
In this way, making video becomes an important core activity, instead of a marketing to-do on the entrepreneur's endless list. Actually, it is not that different from a one-on-one session with a customer and making video in this way fits in perfectly with your working method!
